Industry Expertise
Funeral directors, cemetery operators, crematory managers, preneed professionals, and aftercare teams know exactly where the work breaks down.

Proposed for ICCFA Experience 2027 · Denver
For the first time, industry professionals can turn everyday challenges into working digital solutions without learning to code. Deathcare Innovation Lab is a proposed hands-on experience where funeral, cemetery, cremation, and aftercare professionals use AI-assisted development to imagine, build, and showcase what’s possible.
What a team says out loud
“Our team spends too much time coordinating daily crematory readiness checks across multiple locations.”

How participants submit ideas, how coaches sharpen them, and what people walk out with — all proposed, nothing locked in.
The big idea
Deathcare has never been short of people who understand the problems. What it has lacked is a way for them to build the answers themselves.
Funeral directors, cemetery operators, crematory managers, preneed professionals, and aftercare teams know exactly where the work breaks down.
AI-assisted builders turn plain-language descriptions into working software, which removes the barrier that kept most professionals out of product creation.
Learning happens in a room with peers, mentors, and real problems — not in a slide deck about tools.
Not a traditional hackathon
Participants bring their knowledge of deathcare. AI-assisted tools help translate that knowledge into working prototypes. Nobody is expected to write code, and nobody is expected to have tried before.

How it works
No technical prerequisite. The path from a familiar frustration to a demonstrated prototype is guided at every turn.
Name the friction you already live with every week.
Describe the outcome in plain language.
AI turns your description into a working screen.
Feedback sharpens scope and usability.
Demonstrate what you made to the room.
Six challenge tracks
Each track reflects a place deathcare professionals meet friction every week. Every card opens the track in full.
Who benefits?
The pilot needs both an industry host and a technology partner. Here is what each one gets out of it.
Empower members, expand practical education, differentiate the conference, and create lasting innovation opportunities that keep working long after Denver.

Explore the Lovable PartnershipCoaches
Every team will have access to a bench of coaches drawn from two worlds: people who have built software products, and people who have spent careers serving families. Coaches will be announced as they are confirmed.
Owners and directors who know arrangement conferences, staffing, and family expectations firsthand.
Specialists in memorialization, compliance, chain of custody, and day-to-day operations.
People who understand long-term planning conversations and the growing pet aftercare market.
Designers and engineers who help teams turn an idea into a screen someone can actually use.
Hands-on guides for prompting, iterating, and getting unstuck while building.
People who have taken products to market and can pressure-test what's worth building next.
